Mussoorie lies at an elevation of 6,932 feet (2,112 m) on a ridge amidst
picturesque Himalayan scenery. A popular summer resort for residents of the
surrounding states, it is known for its residential schools and a botanical
garden, and is the summer seat of various Indian government offices. The
first brewery in India was established there in 1850.
